“Until the Flowers Bloom,” Blue Box Episode 21 will premiere this week, bringing us closer to the season finale.
Breaking a considerable chunk of romance anime stereotypes and establishing itself firmly as a progressive alternative to many of the cringe-worthy arguments out there, Blue Box Episode 20 has offered a whole other avenue for enactment. The previous episode initiated a subjective conversation about romantic inclinations and what relationships mean to different people, taking an approach that is undeniably mature and one that very few mainstream anime have even dared to contemplate as possible.
Carrying on with this same discussion will weigh down Blue Box Episode 21 with the aftermath of the school play but would now introduce the new character Ayame to the equation.
What to expect from Blue Box Episode 21?
Episode 21, which has a working title “Until the Flowers Bloom” (literal translation), per the official anime website. Fresh from the Eimei Academy festival, as the complications are at their height, the aftermath of an accident that just happened during the Snow White play gives rise to rumors about Taiki and Hina dating.
The whole drama has only added fuel to Taiki’s already-burned-out psyche, one that is currently going back and forth trying to decide whether to go all-in for Chinatsu or yield to the temptations of possibly falling for Hina.
Chinatsu hopes to clear any misunderstandings, keeping a little distance, with the intention of spending the night at her best friend Karen’s house. This sleepover gives her the best chance of opening her heart to Karen and revealing her secret. That new introduction to the show also finally fits into the puzzle, with good-natured Ayame, revealed to be Karen’s sister.
Blue Box Episode 21 Release Date
Blue Box/Ao no Hako episodes air in Japan on local networks JNN and TBS, while Netflix streams the weekly anime premiers for an international audience every Thursday.

Blu Box Anime: Info
Blue Box is the legit way to go for 25 episodes; so, it does not follow the less popular route of giving any anime season a dozen episodes. The first half of the journey of the first season finished with the conclusion on the 19th of December. Blue Box took a week-long break before turning the page for the start of second-part resumption. Season 1 Part 2 came back to the high school anime on the 2nd of January to continue its weekly storyline into the new year.
For the first half of the second season, the opening theme song is set to be “Saraba” by Macaroni Empitsu, while TOMOO’s “Contrast” completes the line-up as the ending theme. Right before Part 2 premiered, the anime officials dropped a key visual encapsulating the theme for the following episodes. What a better tagline than “The one I like is” that resonates with Taiki’s mental strain, burdened not only with his own emotional luggage and feelings for Chinatsu but now with Hina to worry about after her confession of love.
Blue Box Anime: Plot
An award-winning manga series titled by Kouji Miura, Ao no Hako has begun rerunning on-shoes on October 3 after previously being serialised in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. The wholesome dramedy is getting an injection of international recognition with Netflix adduction on a weekly episode basis in its anime catalogue alongside Dan Da Dan Season 1 simulcast that recently ended and the adduction of Sakamoto Days.
Taiki Inomata, a first-year student at Eimei Academy – a sports powerhouse- has big dreams of qualifying for the badminton nationals, a blossoming reality in the making.
