The an official staff announced on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, during a live stream, that the second season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End will be released in January 2026. In addition, the staff revealed a teaser visual to accompany the announcement. However, there is still no definite release date.

The Madhouse production continues with the sequel to Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End season 2, which consisted of two consecutive cours with a total of 28 episodes aired between September 2023 and March 2024.
The series itself is based upon an original fantasy manga series by author Kanehito Yamada and illustrator Tsukasa Abe. The manga currently runs in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End season 2 debuts in January 2026
On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, during a live stream called Sousou no Frieren ~ Talk no Maho ~ Kinkyo Hokoku, the official staff announced that Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End season 2 is set to officially premiere in January 2026 (i.e. Winter 2026 on Nippon Television). An exact date has yet to be revealed.

With much anticipation now built for the sequel since the unveiling of the teaser visual, the illustration shows Frieren, Fern, and Stark sitting by a lake and looking distantly forward. The background, tinged by twilight, adds to the charm of the scenery. Interestingly, the main trio is seen dipping their feet into the lake.
Notably, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End season 2 was announced for production at the anime’s first-anniversary event held on September 28, 2025. The official staff shared a teaser visual and an announcement PV, mentioning that Madhouse would handle the animation production.
Atsumi Tanezaki voiced the elven mage Frieren, Kana Ichinose voiced Fern, the mage apprentice of Frieren, Chiaki Kobayashi voiced the warrior Stark, Nobuhiko Okamoto voiced the bravest hero Himmel, Yoji Ueda voiced Eisen, Hiroki Tochi voiced Heiter, Yuichi Nakamura did the voice of Sein, and others with several characters joining at various points.
Keiichiro Saito directed the first season of Madhouse, with Tomohiro Suzuki handling the script for the series. Reiko Nagasawa was the character designer, while Evan Call composed the series backdrop music. The first season streamed on Crunchyroll, with English subtitles and a dubbed version, while Netflix streams it in other selected countries.
About Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End season 2’s plot

Considering that 60 manga chapters from the original manga series by Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe were covered in the first season, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End season 2 will begin directly adapting Chapter 61, continuing with Frieren and her friends on their journey to Ende.
If the sequel maintains a similar pace to that of the first season and with the same number of episodes, it may adapt The Continued Northern Travels Arc and part of The Golden Land Arc. In simpler words, the sequel will show Frieren and her friends diving into even more challenges on their journey.
