Megumi Ishitani and Masami Mori are well-distributed names in the animation industry right now thanks to their recent work on One Piece, especially One Piece episode 1015, and One Piece Fan Letter. The latter, especially, took the crown of The Highest Special Anime Episode Ever, which is no minor feat. A recent interview, too, revealed the duo’s interest in working on a feature.

Ishitani and Mori Interview Highlights A Feature Film
They are the creators of One Piece Fan Letter
Very recently, Megumi Ishitani and Masami Mori came for an interview and shared some very interesting information concerning their work on One Piece Fan Letter and others with the One Piece series. More specifically, in the One Piece Fan Letter, Ishitani had the directing/storyboard artist role, while Mori was the Animator Supervisor and animator, and did much of the character design while also working a little on the storyboard. These two have done great work, and anything with their names attached is always something for which fans look forward.
In their most recent interview, they mentioned how they would like to work on a feature film, which sounds very appealing for all One Piece fans. Here is what the interview was all about:
Q: So, what’s next on the horizon? Do the three of you have any goals for the future?
Ishitani: I don’t think about the future. I always think whatever I’m working on at the moment is going to be my last work. Although if I do take on another project, l am interested in feature films. I’ve been saying I wanted to get involved with a theatrical production for a while, but I haven’t had the opportunity to do so. I’d like to try working on a feature-length film at least once.
Mori: I’d also like to try working on a feature film. And I want to continue to improve as a keyframe artist.
What This Means for the Future of One Piece Movies
While these two have proclaimed their interest in working on a feature film, there are no announced movies for One Piece right now, but one can be expected soon, as a long time has passed since the release of Film Red which was an enormous Box Office success.
However, another One Piece movie announcement does not guarantee them working on it, but the fans, if it happens, would go ecstatic because they never fail to deliver.
